Shady Character Ltd. was founded in 1979, selling vintage sunglasses, frames and accessories. At first, they went out and bought manufacturer\'s overstocks and dyed the frames in 50\'s colors. The retro frames and sunglasses quickly sold out and Shady Character began designing and manufacturing their own frames. They realized that there was an untapped market for visionary vintage items...instant classics...and thus was born the Shady Character Eyewear and Sunglasses collection. The brand \'s multiple collections became instant classics with a worldwide following. They were discontinued in the early 90\'s as the owner expanded their vision and went on the create the Shadow Boxer and Nick & Nora brands.
Today, their frames are more than vintage or classics, they are truly collectibles. And as any aficionado of the original eyewear collection by Shady Collection will attest, they are extremely hard to find especially in vintage excellent condition. Additionally, the \"Little Jimmies\" frame was inspired as a tribute to James Dean and is one of the most recognizable and sought after frame. Please note that there are many replicas of these frames out of South East Asia trying to pass as original.They feature \"Shady Character NYC Hand Made in U.S.A.\" on the interior of theright temple, 7-barrel hinges, a keyhole bridge, and silver rivets on the frontand temples. Again, there is no imprint of the \"Little Jimmies on the Left temple. I\'m also including a sunglass/ eyewear case lined with a soft flannel interior. This NOS original Little Jimmies sunglasses by Shady Character is quite rare and in Excellent vintage condition, no scratches, no blemish, no imperfections on the frame... Again, this frame is 30 plus years old as opposed to a shiny new replica. This is a great opportunity for any collector to add these Little Jimmies to their collection.
