Early vintage Heinrich Haeberlein Metzger Nurnberg embossed Lebkuchen cookie tin. Per family history, this tinfilled with cookies cametoMilwaukee in 1926 with my great aunt, souvenirs from a trip visiting family in Germany.The tinhas been stored in a dark, climate controlled area for over 40 years, conserving most of it\'s colorful graphics and preserving the tin from rust accumulation. Inside the lid sits the original paper doily printed with the blue baker\'s label.Overall, the tin has aged well,exhibiting some exterior finish scratches, wear around the edges of the lid, and a tiny amount of rust on the inside near the base. The interior retains its shine. Hinges work well and hold the lid tightly in place. It measures approximately 4 3/8\" by 3\"by 4\" tall. I have not cleaned it. A pretty German treasure from my family to your collection.
