DescriptionThis charming pink GIRL bird candy container has a hole in back where the lollipops went. She is very Art Deco in her design, and has a fun little hat with lavender blue painted accents on her hat, bow and face. She is a lovely bright pink, and stands about 4\" tall, and is about 2\" wide. She has NO damage, breaks, cracks or issues. This container is quite scarce, in this condition. She dates to the late 1940\'s, and is made from hard plastic (Styrene). This type of bird was made in several styles; there is a boy bird like the girl that is also for sale. She is charming, and won\'t disappoint.The E. Rosen Company began business in Rhode Island in 1911 (also called School House Candy) and is still in business today! They are still family owned by the Rosen family. They really came into their own in the late 1940\'s when plastics became the defacto standard for candy containers and novelty items. They purchased Rosbro Plastics, and then later the Tico Toy Company, and used both as further avenues for their novelties. Their vintage pieces, like this girl bird, are highly prized by collectors because of their kitschy charm, and often Art Deco style..
