keystone_antiques Store This is a rare, unusual Vintage Japanese Lacquer Geisha Jewelry Music Box in that it has a reverse-painted & pearlized geisha scenic that actually causes color changes depending on the light & the angle from which it is seen--a gorgeous, stunning effect! Note the different photos & angles & light changes--I have never before seen this application in one of these vintage Japanese boxes!This is a large box for jewelry storage, measuring 12\" x 7 x 4 1/2\" tall, with a gorgeous red lining in beautiful condition.When you open the lid, the music starts to play Johann Strauss \"The Blue Danube\" or AKA \"The Skater\'s Waltz\", and a gorgeous, elegant ballerina in a lace tutu dances, or glides, in a circle on the mirrored stage, almost like an ice skater, if you will--what a fabulous show!The music box plays flawlessly & has an incredible sound, & I have oiled the music box mechanism to keep it playing for a long time to come, as this is an heirloom-quality piece that you will want to pass down for generations to come--daughters & granddaughters alike recount such glowing memories of showpieces like this!
