It houses 3 spelter cherubs which are mounted on brass/bronze back plates and are accented with thick brass or bronze acanthus leaves. The cherubs are all different and each houses a single, acanthus vine arm. The arms house the light sockets which are hidden by pierced brass shade housings. The lamp has 3 large Vianne glass shades. The shades are fluted and have a Neoclassical style pattern which is accomplished in satin to clear. The shades also have glass beading and have ruffled tops. Each cherub figure is marked \"Paris, France\" on the back of the back plates but there is no manufacturer\'s mark. The pole is a combination of painted cream and brass. The lamp is a 3 way function so that one, two, or all three lights can operate as desired. The lamp is in good condition with some scuffs to the painted finishes and some age spots on the brass. The lamp is operational and working but the cord is old and brittle. The cord should be replaced from the pole to the socket but the lamp does not need to be rewired. The shades are good with some ruff/wear to the fitter areas. This is a beautiful lamp with a true, French, Parisian character. Lamp is approximately 65 years old. The lamp is 103\" tall but the tension design will reduce to fit an 8ft ceiling. Because most modern homes have taller ceilings, I have photographed the lamp, in my home, mounted on a decorative box table and have accented this with greenery and silk cabbage roses to hide the bottom of the pole. Each cherub is 8\" tall. The shades are 8.5\" tall, 6\" diameter at the top and have a 2.75\" fitter.Because of the fragile nature of the lamp, we will FREIGHT ship inside your door via USHIP; ask for quote.
