VTG. Pygmalion Sonata Grand Piano Compact England VERYCOLLECTIBLE

This particular compact is a very collectiblecompact that is shown in most collectors books on compacts.

This beautiful Pygmalioncompact is in the shape of a grand piano. It is called Sonata. It was made in England. It is from the 1950’s.

I purchased this piece at an estate sale wherethe owner collected many of these gorgeous pieces. This compact still has the original powderpuff with “Sonata” imprinted on it and the screen still inside.There is amirror in the lid. The word Pygmalion is engraved on the inside of the compact. The piano legs are located on the bottom of the compact andfold flat for storage. This compact measures a little over 2 ½” long x a little over 2 ¼”wide.

The piece does show some age on the outside and the mirror , although intact, does have a couple of spots on it due to age (Please see pictures), but it is a stunning piece.

I did some research on this piece and havefound it sold by many antique dealers for around $299.00. I also learned that this is a very collectible piece and can be found in many collectors books on compacts.
