Vally Wieselthier was one of the amazing artists that regullary produced designs for the Wiener Werkstätte from the year 1917. Although Wieselthier is an exception to the other ladies because she also found big international recognition outside the Wiener Werkstätte. Her works are displayed in museums all aroundthe globe, amongst others also in New York, her adopted place of residence.
This bowl shows a complete floral Design. The colouring is very maritime with shades of black, brown and an emerald-greenish main colour. On the bottom the marks “VW” for Vally Wieselthier, the “WW” for Wiener Werkstätte”, the model number 178 and the “made in Austria” can be found. The genuine blueprint can be found in the Wiener Werkstatte pattern book in the Museum for Applied Arts in Vienna with the number KO-5704.
Vally Wieselthier war eine der großartigen Künstlerinnen die ab 1917 regelmäßig Entwürfe für die Wiener Werkstätte produzierten. Wieselthier ist jedoch eine der wenigen Damen die damals auch international und außerhalb der Wiener Werkstätte große Beachtung fand. Ihre Entwürfe befinden sich heute in vielen großen Museen, unter anderem auch in ihrer späteren Wahlheimat New York.
Diese Schale zeigt ein komplett florales Design. Das Kolorit ist maritim in Schwarz und Smaragdgrün gehalten. Am Boden der Schale befindet sich das Signet „VW“ von Vally Wieselthier, das „WW“ der Wiener Werkstätte, die Produktionsnummer 178 und der Schriftzug „Made in Austria“. Der Originalentwurf befindet sich im Entwurfsbuch der Wiener Werkstätte im Archiv des Museums für angewandte Kunst unter der Nummer KO-5704.
