Up for sale is a fine handcrafted sword with gem stone. I won this one from an online US sale (shown in the last photo) and paid all the buyer premium and expensive courier service to Hong Kong, I never bought sword from China as I don\'t trust those sellers.. according to the saleeer, this came from an estate in California. I did some research before I finally placed the offer, this is a Qing dynasty sword pattern and the stamp on the blade indicates it was made in the period of Jianxing emporer (Throne period 1796~1820). I could not find any similar replica from any onsite sources.
The damascus blade is sharpened and looks aged. The whole sword has good balance and you can feel the weight. What makes this sword stands from others is its finely crafted scabbard and grip. It looks to me they are made of gilt brass. They are decorated with flying dragons and gem stones; even the edges are all hand-decorated. I think this kind of dragon pattern could only be \"circulated\" within the palace circle, possibly carried by royal family members. The only issue of the sword is missing some of the gem stones, as you can see from the photos.
