Long-limbed Teen

This sale is for one of the hardest to find early Lencis, the model # 400 long-limbed teen. Serious Lenci collectors are always on the look-out for one of the few models in this series to round out their collections.

This perfectly proportioned Lenci teen has long slender arms and legs to match her hard-stuffed torso. She has long delicate hands with the two middle fingers joined and double-ply applied felt ears. Her feet have toes outlined by stitching.

She is 17” tall and looks like a shy gazelle. She has the most exquisitely sculpted face with little two-tone rosebud lips, feathered lashes and single-stroke brows and her side-glancing brown eyes give her a soft, dreamy, thoughtful expression.

Her blonde mohair is fashioned into two narrow braids and needs a gentle styling.

She is wearing her fabulous original Art Deco felt outfit which consists of an orange-and-]yellow thigh-length belted jacket with a large rolled collar/lapelover a turquoise and lime-green sleeveless shift. Both the yellow collar and pockets are ribbed with tiny orange stitching. She wears a matching orange-and-yellow flapper-like cloche hat.

Only Lenci could imagine a color combination like this and make it work so beautifully!

She is wearing her original onesie butis missing her shoes and socks, so I have nicknamed her the \"Barefoot Princessa\"!

Condition: She is overall dusty/dirty, but her face is exquisite with only light smudges. All features are original and unretouched and are perfectly painted.

There is a pinhole onher left eyelid by the corner of her eye and a shallow nibble on the tip of her nose.

Her straight legs have some light stains and there is a small area of felt loss on her upper back thigh by her little butt.

There is a strange dark stain of some kind on her right shoulder which looks like it may be age-darkened glue (?). I have tried to show it in one of my photos, but it is obviously completely hidden by the jacket (and was never disclosed to me by the previous owner! Ahem!).

Her clothes have shelf dust and one or two small stainsand moth nibbles.

Even with her slight imperfections, this precious, very special andvery hard-to-finddoll is a must for anyone who is trying to assemble a complete collection of Lenci models. Don’t let her get away!
