Hi, Selling this stunning and very rare Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug featuring very early Rugby players playing rugby coming to a scrum in the centre and made in 1883. The Doulton sporting pieces are rare in themselves but this is a very early Rugby piece and as such very rare. It is in Very Good display condition with No major damage or restoration, as can be seen it does have a small chip near the spout and a crack on the inside top part of the handle. Neither issue is really that noticeable when on display but would be a very easy and cheap job for any restorer. It measures a large 18.5cms in height and 17cms in width across the spout and handle and is marked to the base as shown. This is an absolute must for any collection and displays really really well.
