Very Rare Original Victorian REGARD Ring 15CT Gold Beautiful:
$1921.02

Over 114 years old (up to 178 years old), this antique Victorian Regard ring - is one of the most beautiful ones of this style - I ever have seen.*** the ring size is approx 19.8mm - 20.00mm\"A regard ring is a form of acrostic jewellery where the first letter of each gemstone spells out the word “Regard” as can be seen in this terrific example of an antique Regard ring from the Victorian era.

This regard ring was made in 15ct gold around 1880 and the ring is set with a ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and finally a lovely rose cut diamond.

Regard rings were especially popular during the Victorian era and really makes you wonder who owned these rings in the past as they were given with so much love and sentiment.

Antique regard rings are becoming so increasingly hard to find and the setting of this regard ring is stunning and so wonderful to admire both on and off the finger.

The gemstones setting alone is so wonderful, however on the side if the ring are 5 “flower” designs which is very charming and romantic.\"

A regards ring was a Victorian([citation needed] engagement ring in which the initials of the precious stones mounted on the band spelled out the word \"regards\" in an implicit a few words....Occasionally you come across a piece of 15 carat gold. It is usually marked 15ct but sometimes 625. It has a gold content of 625 parts per 1000 or 62.5% gold. This was a British Commonwealth standard for a high carat, strongly yellow and reasonably hard gold that was used in pieces that had a lot of wear like bracelets, chains, etc but high quality gold was still required. It was discontinued in England as a gold standard in 1932 with the Commonwealth member countries soon following. So, if you do happen to find a piece of 15ct gold you can nearly be absolutely sure its made before 1932. I say nearly as nothing is absolutely certain in this world.\"***Purchased from Frost Antiques, Castlereagh Street, Sydney - 17 years ago. I still have the receipt and ring will be sold with Frost Antiques signature ring box.
