Very Rare R-9 Quarter Eagle Game Counter Token

We have a rare one here! This piece is listed in Fuld/Rulau as Rad-3 Radian Eagle) with R-9 rating (2-4 known). They priced this one in 1972 for $45 in VF. Our piece VF or better. This piece is struck in brass and measures 17.5mm, plain edge. This counter was used in games of chance in lieu of a $2 1/2 gold piece. The numerals only types, as this one is, are believed to date from the time of Civil War, circa 1860. The numeral on one side with an radiant eagle on the other side are much later pieces.
