\"Gen. G.A. Walker, Clover Depot, Danville R.R., Send the following order by special Courier to Gen. Mahone at Clarksville. Join your Division as soon as practical at Weldon to meet enemy approaching that place, (sgd) R.E. Lee\"

With manuscript \"C.H. ans by telgh Jany 20th 1865\" with additional numerical notations on front and back.

It is believed the \"J.A. Walker\" referred to in telegram is James Alexander Walker (183-1901) a Virginia lawyer, politician, and Confederate general during the Civil War, later serving as a United States Congressman for two terms. He earned the nickname \"Stonewall Jim\" for his days as commander of the famed Stonewall Brigade.
