Incredible and very scarce ROOKWOOD POTTERY -large flashy male boxer dog figure. Natural colors in high glaze. Impressed with the Rookwood symbol and the date \"XLV\" (1945). The president of the B. Altman Company, a Rookwood retail outlet in N.Y., commissioned 25 of these figures as gifts. There is no shape number so we can surmise that they were not intended to be part of “regular” production. This boxer is pictured in Nicholson-Thomas on page 113. Outstanding piece in wonderful condition. You\'ll be thrilled to add this to your collection. This is from my personal collection and has been owned by me for over twenty years. Additional photos upon request.
Dimensions: 10 1/2 inches by 9 inches.
Condition: Excellent original factory condition. No crazing, chips, flakes or restoration. These become available rarely and usually have crazing and damage.
