A very fine antique Russian flaring octafoil two handled vase or basin dating from the year 1853, in excellent condition and standing circa 7 and three quarter cm tall with a diameter of circa 11 and three quarter cm.the interior retains extensive traces of gilding.The vessel which weighs 167 gm bears the full complements of Russian marks on the base with the additional 84 silver standard mark impressed into the rim and into both of the handles which are designed to simulate entwined branches.I have not identified the maker but of course collectors of Russian works of art will do so without any difficulty.First class signed for postage quoted for UK buyers...shipping world wide.Shipping to other parts of Europe including Russia will cost £5.15p.OVERSEAS BUYERS SHOULD CHECK THAT SILVER ITEMS CAN BE IMPORTED.FOR EXAMPLE I AM ADVISED BY OUR POST OFFICE THAT THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT PROHIBITS THE IMPORTING OF SILVER.
