Very pretty, decorative, gilded solid silver USA small serving fork 19th Century:

This pretty little solid silver serving fork, may have been used for serving small items suchas sardines. This highly decorativetype ofembellishment is common with American silver cutlery of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Most of the pattern is on the front, with only a little on the back.

It is generally in very good condition, but only has traces of the original gilding left. There is no damage to the fork, and it has a few normal usage marks.

The reverse of the lower stem is marked STERLING and has a manufacturer\'s logo (Red Indian\'s head?), but Icannot say who the maker is. The fork weighs approx.24g, and measuresjust over 5½\"/145mm.

The items I am selling are from my own collection, whichI have built up over 20+ years. I have decided to rationalize my collection and concentrate on fewer areas, and so I am selling the items which no longer fit in with my collecting criteria.
