This is a tie bar from the Vice Presidency of George H.W. Bush. The Vice Presidential Seal is a worn, multi-colored cloisonne. This type of tie bar was given as a keepsake gift by the Vice President and members of his staff. It was typically reserved for official guests and VIPs both in Washington, DC, and in the course of official trips taken by the Vice President. The gold-color plated bar bears a worn/unreadable facsimile signature \"George Bush\" engraved in black. It measures 2 3/16 inches long x 3/4 inch wide (diameter of seal). Items from Mr. Bush as Vice President are less common and don\'t often come up for sale. This particular type of tie bar with the cloisonne VP Seal is even more scarce.
