This listing is for a lovely gilt hardstone vinaigrette . I have listed it in the silver section but cannot identify the hallmarks , as shown , so please make your own mind up as to what the gilt mounts are made of , it could be silver gilt , gold or gilded plate . Image 1 & image 2 show the lid and underside of the vinaigrette , both which contain a lovely faceted specked red hardstone . The grille itself is beautifully pierced and engraved and the there is no damage to the hardstone or the gilt mounts . There are four hallmarks to the inside rim of the vinaigrette , they are clearly struck but I cannot make out what they are supposed to be . The viniagrette is definetly old and would date from around 1840-1855 .As I am unable to gurantee what this vinaigrette is made of or where it is from , I am selling with a starting price but cannot accept returns based on origin or material it is made of as I am selling on the basis that I do not know so please offer on that basis Shipping to the EU & UK is freeRest of the World £25
