AMAZING WORKMANSHIP!!!
This antique bottle is amazing...from the shape, color, workmanship and condition...it's a beauty. It was won at estate sale some time ago as part of the owners collection. it was probably made in China in the Victorian era. It is a very solid glass bottle that measures about 3 by 2 by 1 inches. The glass is translucent ruby red with a very ornate (looks like a stylized fish to me) overlay design. I'm assuming the overlay is applied and not cut away from the bottle. The bottle was originally used as an opium/snuff bottle but the estate owner used her collection on her dressing table to hold rings. The stopper fits tightly and probably held a stick/scoop at one time. I see no chips, scratches or missingpieces. This beautiful and unusual piece is in excellent vintage condition and ready to use, display or gift.
