This is a particularlyattractiveVictorian sterling silver card case with a stylish \"fan\" effect multi card holderinterior as shown.
Beautifully decorated on both sides externally,with aperiod monogram in the stylish cartouche front centre and the makers mark \"S. MORDAN & Co\" engraved on the spine.
The casemeasures 4.25\" longby 3\" wide approximatelyand itis about 10 mm deep.
Assayed by top manufacturer Sampson Mordan, it bears an 1877 London hallmark andweighs 4.58 imperial ounces which is 4.15 Troy ounces(129.8g). This weight does of course alsoinclude the non-silver interior fittings.
The interior is in poor condition due to age and use over considerable years so is at fault (A/F). I have pictured the interior clearly above so that you can make a judgement.
Nothing really nasty or serious to report condition wise with the exterior though as you can see.The case hasjustthe typicalminor scuffs and light faint scratches that objects like this always attract through age and use over the years. Thehingeis in good working order.
