We like this sconce because it is a nice solution for light to put over the sink in the bathroom or kitchen in your period home. Its close-to-the-wall profile makes it great for mounting in hallways and staircases.

The two down-facing lights brighten up a mirror quite well, and if you have a two-sink bathroom with room for two of them...well...they will look really good. Circa 1910, this re-creation even has a center Off/On switch. Mounts with one center screw to the electrical box.

These sconces are made of solid brass, but we have six finishes available to suit your décor:

Red Bronze Finish, which is a variation of our Antique Brass Finish, but with red highlights.

At listing time, we had pictures of this sconce in two finishes. The first picture shows this sconce in Antique Brass Finish, with Opaque White Mythical Face shades. The second picture shows the sconce in Nickel Plated, with Frosted Acorn Shades. Pictures of finish samples have been provided for your reference.

Shade options include the pictured replica shades, which are part of our Victorian Fort Worden line, and were originally designed between 1897 and 1912. Both are enclosed shades, so the light bulb isn\'t visible. One features a mythological lion (or other protective beast) with a subtle face design that adds masculine charm. The other is a classic \"acorn\" shape that was a very popular design element in the Victorian era. Our glass is hand blown into molds, not a sprayed-on finish. 3 ¼\" fitter size, and a choice between frosted or opaque white glass.

This sconce can also be purchased without shades, for those who have antique/vintage shades they may wish to use 15\"

LED and compact fluorescent bulbs are recommended, due to their efficiency and comparative cooler operating temperatures.
