Vintage 12 Piece Filigree Ormolu Vanity Set-Victorian Floral & Cherubs Complete!
UP for sale is a stunning mix of older vintage filigree ormolu 12 piece vanity set with a lovely hand held fan(makes 13 pieces total). The set has been lovingly taken care of over the years-there is no damage that I can see...no missing metal or pieces to the filigree. Some of the older of them do have some rich darker patina but no oxidation. There are a few of the pieces that have a makers mark on the bottom but unable to attribute them. I will break down each of the pieces for you.
1.Tray-measures 17 inches long x 11 inches wide. It has beautiful roses on each of the handles and velvet lining on the back. The mirror has no cloudiness and no flaws. Quite beautiful and heavy!
2.Ormolu Perfume-measures 7.5 inches tall x 4 inches wide. Still has some old perfume inside. The dauber is intact!! Yes-the glass dauber is still intact. The stopper screws into the bottle and has quite ornate filigree to it. The base has even more intricate filigree work with a lovely flower in the middle while the back has no flower. Unmarked.
3.Trinket box/jewelry box-measures 3.5 inches tall x 6 inches long. Has a glass cover on the top and velvet lining inside and on the bottom. Has 3 tiny stains on the velvet by the leg on the underside. The filigree work is also done beautiful and makes the box quite intriguing. Unmarked.
4.Powder box is from the 1940\'s era and has a bakelite knob on the top-measures 5.5 inches tall x 4 inches wide. Is a music box and is in great working condition! Again this piece is quite heavy. No filigree on it but the metal is gold toned and is in basket weave type design. It is adorable!!!
5.Lipstick holder #1 measures 2.25 inches tall x 5 inches long. Holds 6 regular sized lipsticks and 2 small or for Q-Tips. Has 4 cherubs holding it up with filigree work all around and on top. Nice weight to it and some age. Unmarked.
6 & 7.Matched pair of lipstick holders-3.5 inches tall x 4 inches across the base. These are quite the work of art and from the 1920\'s 30\'s era. They have gemstones on the 3 corners forming flowers with crystals. A single cherub sits in the front. They are so beautiful! I have added extra photos of them so you can see the work done to them. They are marked with SF CO on the bottom.
8.Cherub letter holder-measures 3 inches x 3 inches. Unmarked.
9.Small Cherub with harp ring Shell dish-2 inches x 4 inches. There is a small hole in the shell on the underside below the lip but hard to see. Quite sweet looking!! Unmarked.
10.Two piece tissue box-measures 2.5 inches tall x 10.5 inches long. Has the filigree metal work all around with two long stemmed flowers on the top and velvet on the bottom. Again quite beautiful!! Unmarked.
11.Mirror-from the 1930\'s era-measures 13.5 inches long x 6 inches wide. Has the plastic cover over the back. Has some dark patina to the handle from usage. Unmarked. Beautifully decorated in flowers and twining vines.
12.Brush is the same as the mirror. Measures 10 inches long x 3 inches wide.
13.Is a nice cloth hand held fan. Came with the set so continues on with it!!You wont find a better set around folks! Snap it up before someone else...
