The front has a western style design and the flap lifts up to expose the part where you wouldslide in a photo or card.There is a plastic window inside that may or may not be original to the piece.The owner\'s initials (H. F. M.) are tooled into the leather at the top above the design.
This item is from the estate of a World War I veteran and was used for his identity card during World War I.There are four pockets on the back that were perhaps used for pens, pencils or other items.They are a bit flattened out. See photos.
