Vintage(1938-58) KIRSTEN Straight/Aluminum Stem Tobacco Pipe. Pipe is stamped \'Pats. & Pats.Pend-M\'(M for Medium) on the bottom of stem(4th & 5th photos), has no \'O\' rings on the front valve or mouthpiece(9th-11th photos), and has no bowl plate(11th photo), thus identifying this pipe as a \'1st generation\' Kirsten pipe, mfgd. anywhere between 1938-58, as the earliest Kirsten pipes were stamped \'Pat. Applied For\'(only used during 1st couple years of production, 1936-38). These pipes easily disassemble for quick cleaning(9th & 10th photos). The interchangeable, imported Mediterranean Briar \'Mariner\' style bowl(inner cir.7/8\"w x 7/8\"deep) & \'Radiator\' designed, aircraft grade aluminum stem are spotless(7th & 8th photos), and the brown \'Lucite\' mouthpiece shows very minor tooth bite(4th, 9th & 10th photos).
