Up for sale is a early 1960s Slingerland Marching Snare Drum in just beautiful condition. This drum has all the original hardware including the original shoulder strap, case and drum key, only the heads have been changed. The snares look to be original which is quite remarkable and to find one of these with the original case in complete condition is quite rare. It sounds incredible with that deep full 10X14 inch sound and that bright tight marching drum top end. The single position snare works perfectly and there are absolutely no cracks or dents in the Mahogany sides. This drum was hand made made in Chicago at the Slingerland Factory sometime in the early to mid 60s. It found its way to a Private Peruvian School and was used there for many years coming back to the States when the school closed down. Its been in a private collection ever since and has seen very little use. Just an amazing example of a vintage snare drum with all the original accessories. This could also be used as a tom tom by removing the snare if that suites your needs
The cosmetic condition is amazing for a vintage drum with only minor nicks and scratches here and there. The hardware\'s chrome is in excellent condition and there is only very minor signs of oxidizing and some very minor rust on the snares. The cases zipper works perfectly and the cloth has some stains and discoloring here and there. There is some tape with a persons name in the side, very old tape.
