This 1969 Schmid music box vintage Snoopy the dog (from the Charlie Brown/ Peanuts cartoons) astronaut on wood dog house is inspired by Neil Armstrong taking the first step on the moon from the Apollo 11 in 1969. This piece featuresSnoopy astronaut sitting on top of his wooden dog house complete with red felt helmet and goggles. His flight safety pack with air hose, and even his clear plastic helmet shield is intact with no cracks, but is missing the front part of the helmet andthe house has a few small paint chips missing on the roof, otherwise is in excellent condition. The music box measures approximately 8\" height (plastic helmet to the base) and 6\" wide. It is hallmarked \"United Feature Syndicate 1969\" with copyright logo and has a sticker that reads Schmid Bros. Inc. Tune No. 160 Fly Me To The Moon, made in Japan. Overall this music box part is in good condition for it\'s age, the house turns on it\'s base and plays the song but a little slow. The copyright logo and United Feature Syndicate 1969 is stamped on the bottom. Also a sticker that reads Schmid Bros. Tune No. 160 Fly Me to the Moon, made in Japan. The house turns on it\'s base and plays Fly Me To The Moon.He is beautiful and so very rare. What a find for the NASA collector, or the Snoopy / Peanuts vintage or music box collector.
