Up for sale is a 1980’s Gorham sterling and glass saltcellar/sugar/spice container. I’m notexactly sure what this container was designed for. Judging by the markings it is 1980’s Gorhambut I am unable to narrow the date further.The top of the container is monogramed with AEG and decorated with 10fleurs de lis. All of the silver piecesare marked sterling. The weight of thelid and piece with the shaker holes is 50g.The sterling rim attached to the glass isn’t detachable so I am unableto weigh it. The weight of the entirepiece (glass and silver) is 12 ounces.
Unfortunately there is a dent on the side of the lid andthe piece with the holes in it has been bent or warped a bit. When you take the lid off, the piece with theholes in it comes off as well and gets stuck in the lid. You have to push your finger up on the pieceand it releases and comes out. So unlesssomeone can fix the dented/warped areas the practical use of this piece will bea bit cumbersome. Glass is in excellentcondition with no chips or cracks. Thesterling has some overall wear with a few nicks and scratches. I’ve taken many pictures for you to have alook at.
