Here is a lovely vintage wood basket handwoven by Longaberger of Dresden Ohio. It is Artist Signed SJS and dated 1983. This Wood Splint basket stands a little less than 6 1/2 inches tall not counting the handle. The handle makes it about 10 3/4 inches tall. It has a solid wood lid and a solid wood bottom with leather hinges and a rawhide leather loop for a clasp with a wooden piece to hold it closed. It has a darker stain than the newer baskets. This Longaberger basket is marked \"Baskets by Longaberger\" which I was told is a very early mark and only 300 or so Longaberger baskets were marked this way.
