Caviness Jewelry is distinctive and unusual, which explains why it remains so popular today. Since it was a special line of jewelry with few pieces made, it is difficult to find today, and very collectible. It is notable for its originality and use of complex, layered materials.
This company began production in about 1945, after World War II. Alice Caviness died in 1983. Some Alice Caviness pieces were manufactured in West Germany, and are marked as such. Many of these are sterling, often in delicate filigree.
This exquisite vintage sterling silver pin is signed, ALICE CAVINESS and STERLING GERMANY on rectangle cartouches on back. It measuresapprox.2" long x 1-1/4" wide x 1/4" deep. Weighing8.6 grams. The design consists of adimensional, gorgeoussterling silver ornate, filigree love birds on a branch. It has a working c clasp closure.It is inexcellent condition. This sensational pin isabsolutely stunning!
