Selling my small collection of blacking boxes. The number 4 box in this set was the first blacking box I ever bought back in 1979 believe it or not! Over the years I\'ve seen lots of them in bad condition and different sizes, but I picked these up as they all had the same style of graphics and they were in great condition all around. I\'ve never met someone else with what I consider a \"full set\". Of the really early boxes like these, which I think were made from the late 1800\'s until the very early 1900\'s, I\'ve only seen these 5 sizes. There are a few of the actual tins of polish out there, and some newer less interesting versions of masons boxes from the 20\'s to 30\'s I think, but these are the old original versions and stop people in their tracks when they see them all together. Actually in the last almost 40 years I\'ve been collecting them I\'ve personally only seen one other number 5 and it was in terrible condition and I passed on it. This one only has a small tear on the inner label and it still looks great. All the finger joints on all the boxes are solid, all the original wire hinges are there and work fine, a couple of them have some nice writing on the outside of the box, and the exterior front labels are in good shape as well. My first box, the number 4, always had a warped lid. I\'m a woodworker, and I\'m pretty sure the lid warped right after they made it because the grain of the wood isn\'t as straight as usual and the inner label is excellent so it\'s never been wet. The lid works fine like all of them, but you can\'t set something on top of it or I\'m pretty sure you\'ll snap the wood or hinges. It\'s been fine for the last 37 years with me so you\'ll have no trouble either I\'m sure. I WILL consider INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, but I have no idea what those costs will be until I get them boxed up. If you\'re offerding internationally, shipping will be what it will be. For international shipping I\'ll expect payment in full on the boxes first, and then I\'ll email you a bill for the shipping separately. You\'ll love them as I have but now they just sit in a closet. Give them a good home. Starting price is low and fair considering the great condition of each box, and probably way under what a set like this together should be listed at. Even the buy it now price is less than what other collectors and dealers have valued this set at.
