This is a rare antique early 1930\'s miniature porcelain black, African American babydoll. My best guess is that this is Bisque Porcelain. This is hand painted and the dress is hand made with authentic leather. Original dress.
Babydoll measures 3.25\" tall.
Materials: Porcelain, leather, paint and thread.
Baby doll is marked \"JAPAN\" on its back
Legs are intact and jointed with original thread. No arms. By looking at the style of outfit I do not believe arms were ever attached, since this style of baby outfit was like a swaddled and arms were tucked inside the dress to keep babies arms secured down to their sides.
