This sale is fora beautiful estate silver plate piece, a very nice vintage rectangular tray that was made by the Sheffield Silver Company of Brooklyn, NY. Sheffield Silver Co. was incorporated in 1908 and their figural trademark registered in 1919. The company operated until 1974 when it was acquired and became a division of Reed & Barton.

This is a heavy tray weighing slightly over 2 pounds, measuring 12.5 by 9.75 inches rim to rim and 16 inches edge-to-edge across the handles. It is heavily embossed with shell and floral patterning and has a heavy gadroon pattern rim and embellished handles. Nicely sized; this tray would be a beautiful match to Gorham English Gadroon, Kings or Queens pattern, or similar flatware with a traditional motif. It presents beautifully, is in very nice condition with minimal usage marks, no dings, no creases, no monogram, and no dents, although there are some marks in the center medallion area. Marked with the Sheffield Silver Company figural mark, EPC and the shape code 5/256.
