Vintage Stanley No. 5, type 6 hand plane. Japanning is excellent. I did not touch it up at all. Sole and cheeks are flat and square. I did sand them with fine sandpaper to remove any rust. No cracks in the body or the knob and tote. I sanded the knob and tote and finished with thinned BLO and Minwax Paste Finishing Wax. The iron is honed to shaving sharp, please notice the shavings (about 0.001\"). This is a fantastic plane that would look good in a collection, but better on your workbench.
