Here is a genuine GermanArengo fountain out my personal collection this is a unique opportunity toacquire one of these very rare 1930’s pens in a magnificent condition, thesepens were only made from 1935 to around 1939 and probably would have been a WW2officers pen and this one is infull working condition, serviced, cleanedwith a polish to clean and look good, this is a stunning super quality fullyworking rare pen, please note comments to the cap, this is a chunky sized penat 130mm long capped. Full details below. I have included a picture showingsome of the process all pens go through for restoration.(This not this pen on sale butsimply an illustration of some the work I do to these old pens). WORK DONE TO THE PEN:

Undergone ultrasonic cleaning process
Both the barrel and cap have received a professional hand polish
Polishing process used: Cutting compounds and hi gloss polish
Gold 24k electroplating to fittings is undertaken where required
Fully serviced and tested
Any threads are cleaned and tested
Insides are also cleaned
Any metal fittings polished
Flushed of ink
Dip write tested
Will receive a polish on dispatch to eliminate any finger acid
Museum micro crystalline wax polish will also be applied
Lint cloth buff up to final polish

THE WRITE:This is an absolutely amazing smoothwriting experience with a superb firm nib with a nice give that glides likesilk over the paper, The pre WW2 war German pen producers tried to simulate the14k gold flexi with a steel based equivalent, this is a superb nib thatachieves that wonderful springy feel I would say a slightly flexi nib that willcreate a wonderful constant or varied line, recommended to be a treasured as aneveryday pen and an extremely rare pen. It has been dip tested in ink notfilled but the filling system has been tested.

THE BARREL:

No barrel imprint (most German pens had any imprint on the caps)
Stunning surface condition
Given polish to return to a pristine finish
Tinted ink window
Piston/plunger filling system
Fully tested and working
All threads are perfect and cleaned
Two minute chips out of the very end of the section

THEFILLING SYSTEM: Plunger or sometimes called piston filling systems came topopularity around the 1940’s/1950\'s and offered a really functional fillingsystem, pioneered inGermanyin the late 1930\'s, simply dip the niband feed in the ink and expel the air by twisting the plunger screw at the endof the barrel to bring the plunger to the front of the barrel then reverse andtwist the plunger to fill with ink. This pen offers a nice efficient and smoothfilling action

THE INK:I have many questions as towhat ink to put in these old pens, many inks are out there and it reallydepends on the viscosity of the ink there are dye based and inks forrapidographs pens but as a general safe ink I always recommend Parker Quink.Also a recommendation from a pen expert Diamine inks (not the \"Shimmertastic\" inks) are also verygood and will complement the pen

THE CAP:This pen wouldhave been classed as mint but the cap has some minor tiny marks that can’tpolish out (see pictures)
