Thisis a beautifully designed early piece of Tapa cloth made from pounded bark of thepaper mulberry, bread fruit, and other plants of the Pacific Islands.Natural dyes and amazing patterns and detailed brush strokes. It is quitelarge measuring approximately 38\" x 72\" inches. I believe this piece isfrom the early 1900s. There is wear along the foldlines. See pictures for condition. Folds can be steamed/lightlyironed out. This piece would be beautiful framed or just hung.
