Brass compact with pink powder puff from Barbie Roman Holiday #968 (1959)This is no doubt the rarest of all vintage Barbie accessories & is referred to as the \"holy grail\" by many Barbie collectors.
The tiny brass compact measures only 3/8\" in diameter & is stamped with the iconic \"B\".
The compact is hinged & this one has a \"substitute\" pin to keep the compact together (this is how I purchased it). I suspect a jeweler could replace
the pin. It looks like a nail in the photo but honestly it\'s so tiny it\'s not even noticeable. It closes loosely; it does not \"snap\" tightly shut.Inside the compact is a tiny mirror & pink powder puff.The compact is in great condition for its age & has never been polished therefore retains its original patina.
A tiny sliver of the finish inside the compact opposite the mirror has worn off as seen in the last picture. The powder puff is still very pink & quite lovely !Complete your vintage Barbie Roman Holiday outfit with this very rare, very hard to find accessory.
Not for the mint collector but looks fabulous on display.
