This ornately designed collapsible lantern was made for the The Beistle Company and printed in Germany. Manufactured around 1920, it is manufactured of cardboard andtranslucent paper. The twelve panels feature images of jack-o-lanterns, owls, witches, devils, bats and black cats.
The Beistle Company of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania is the oldest and largest manufacturer of decorations and party goods in the United States. They have been in business since the since the year 1900.
It is in very good condition overall considering its age. Although the colors and images remain very vibrant, the black is slightly faded and worn. There is one very small tear on one of the witch panels. It is slightly dusty, but because of how fragile this item is I never wanted to try to clean it.
