800 Silver Fish Besamim Spice Box Judaica Israel

This Besamim fish box came from an older private estate. Itis marked” Made in Israel 800”. Made with a solid hollow head and tail, anda bodymade of articulated scales. There are 4 fins that act as legs to standthe box on. The eyes are made of lovely blue faceted glass or stones. The mouthis hinged and can be opened a little way. It is approx. 9” long, 2 1/2” tall.Approx weight: 125.9 grams. There are some zigzag lines around the neck andtail and very fine horizontal lines that add texture to the surface of some thescales.

Condition:It is in very good used condition. No dings or bends. When it was firstpurchased it was black with tarnish and I’ve had it for at least 15 years after that. Ipolished it but there are still a few very small spots of tarnish here andthere. There are some very fine buffing scratches typical of estate silver andsterling - nothing that detracts.
