Rare Gothic Ladies Hand Belt Buckle A very rare and unique vintage bronze belt buckle cast in the shape of a woman\'s hand. I have seen many belts that used a pair of clasping hands to secure it around the waist but this buckle is very different from those. It is designed to work alone and to do that it has had a small steel pin cast into it that inserts into punched holes on the opposite end of the belt, much like many belt buckles in use today. In fact I have only ever seen one other buckle like this. It was an exact match for the size and casting but it\'s finish was very light and almost silver tone in appearance. This buckle has a rich dark aged appearance with slight hints of the bronze peaking through hear and there where small wear thru has allowed for this. The little dots of oxidation on the inside appear to me as having come from droplets of condensation forming when the finish was applied. Probably because the inside is cupped and more prone to the effect and they don\'t appear to have cause any damage like flaking or wear thru so that is why I think they\'ve been their all along. The buckle has no markings or stamps to identify where or when it was made or by whom. It looks like it could very easily be 50 years old or even older but I have now way to tell. It measures 5-3/8\" long overall and is 2-1/2\" at its widest. It is a hook style buckle that will allow belts up to 1-3/4\" in width.
