Wouldn\'t he (or she!) love to find this very collectible and vintage Buck Rogers watch, circa 1935, under the tree this holiday? It was purchased with the leather strap and western silver style star \'fob\' pendant attached to it as shown. I have not been able to find one like it with any leather strap attached, but the strap attaches to the watch perfectly, and the leather itself looks quite worn. The original owners name and the date 1922 is engraved on the silver (no sterling marks) star emblem, so perhaps it was given to him when he turned 13 yrs old. I can visualize that as any boy probably would, he attached it to his belt which caused the silver finish loss on the back and edges of the watch. I purchased it from an estate of a lifetime vintage toy and wild west Americana toy collector. It is possible he could have been the original owner connecting his love of the wild west with the silver star watch fob?? Just a thought! Its history is a puzzle as it often is with antique items. The watch has some condition issues as it was obviously loved, cherished but used and worn. Unfortunately, the crystal cover comes off, and I do not know if this is was made to be removed; but of course I did not attempt to force it into any slots for fear of breaking it. The estate salespeople told me they wound it, and it ran for a short period of time but I have not tried to wind it so I cannot be certain if it actually keeps time. This is a collectible, of course it would be great if it kept time, but it certainly displays beautifully and is an awesome piece of childhood history from the 1930s! Please look at all the photos using the zoom feature so you can see the condition, as it is sold as is. Please look at photos close up to determine if they meet your standards prior to offerding. This Buck Rogers watch is decades old and not straight out of the factory, therefore has age issues as described to the best of my ability.
