This is a vintage hand carved Maori bowl or box with fitted lid. It is 16\" long X 6\" wide X 3\" deep. I do not know what kind of wood it is carved from. It is signed on the bottom \"Waena Rapana\" Rotorua NZ. It is in very good condition. The three warriors have paua shell eyes. On the bottom side of the lid there is a hair line split (repaired) It is a wonderful piece of Maori art expertly carved.
