Vintage, Collectible Navajo Watch Bracelet by Tommy Singer:

This is an important, seminal piece by Navajo silversmith Tommy Singer. The TS with the little crescent moon shape on the back is his trademark. Tommy Singer was born in 1940 and passed away May 31, 2014. He was from Winslow, Arizona. This bracelet was made in the late 1960s or early 70s. The chip inlay was very innovative at the time, and Tommy Singer was the originator of the style! This style became so popular that it was widely copied. The copies, however, were generally crushed turquoise that was covered with resin and ground off. Singer actuallydid micro-inlay mosaics, setting each chip by hand. They bracelet contains peyote bird motifs, inlaid with turquoise and coral. Many of Singer\'s pieces feature peyote bird elements. The settings are so pristine that our appraiser felt the piece had never actually been used as a watch bracelet. It\'s internal circumferencemeasures 5 1/2 inches, with a 1 1/2 inch opening.

This watch bracelet is part of a collection that was donated to Northland Pioneer College by the estate of Burely and Josephine Blunk, late of Winslow, Arizona. The collection was appraised in Fall 2016 by an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers from Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have included as much information as we have about the piece\'s provenance, and the asking price is based on the estimate of average value in today\'s market.
