Featured is a scarce antique ground pontilapothecary/General Store jar 1800’s era complete with a lovely all groundstopper top with decorative embossing typically used for display in a countrystore, drug store, soda fountain shop or pharmacy. Clear glass with ground glass cover and jarsurfaces. The jar and lid is an originalmatch and the lid fit is correct. Thejar with lid stands approximately 8” 1/2 tall x 5” square with a 4 1/4” groundglass opening. It is a four sided squarejar with a 1” cut corner design. Detailon lid is dimpled glass for easy hold.The jar and lid both have ground surfaces and there are no markings onthe jar or lid.

The piece is in very nice used condition with minimalwear as shown with no cracks or fleabites.There is some roughness on the inside portion of the ground lid that isnot noticeable and only a small amount of wear to the bottom of the jar.

Glass is very clear and shines. Some waves and bubbles and imperfect ripplesare always found in old glass works. Youcan see the two mold marks on either side of the glass. Old store jars are very desirable and gettingmuch harder to find. Just a lovelycrystal clear vintage canister or storage jar that you are sure to want to addto your collection. You won’t be disappointedwith this piece.

Allitems are used so please do not expect mint condition, unless stated. In some cases minor straw marks, bubbles ormanufacturer’s flaws may be present which is a sign of its vintage state andauthenticity. Obvious or significantflaws will definitely be noted.
