This is such a unique purse and we believe it is from the 1900\'s to 1930\'s era. The body of the bag is constructed of vertical strips of a fairly heavy woven type fabric and each strip isapproximately 3 1/4\" wide. Thepurse body measures approximately 9 1/2\" x 8 1/4\"( not including handle and fringe). It has a cool metallic finish and deco design but is soiled and dull. The strips were sewn together are coming apart in several places. we believe the frame is brass and it has a snap closure. There is a metallic rope type handle. The trim and fringe are metallic. The purse is quite soiled and needs to be sewn together but the fringe is in pretty good shape. The fabric looks to be reversible and the inside is much better so possibly could be taken apart and turned inside out. We hope someone can bring this great vintage piece back to its original beauty.
