Vintage Danish Artist HANS HANSEN Sterling Silver Modernist Ring Size 5.5Hans Hansen (1884-1940) opened a goldsmith shop and smithy in Kolding, Denmark about 1906. By the 1920s Hansen was producing his own line of flatware. Initially the company produced flatware, but once that was successful, they started with jewelry. The first pieces were designed by Hansen himself around 1931 but production of jewelry really began in 1932 with a collection designed by Hansen\'s son Karl Gustax Hansen. When his father died at age 56, Karl took over Hans Hansen silversmithery and continued it until 1992 when the Hans Hansen firm joined the Georg Jensen company. This is a very modernist minimalist ring, all one in sterling silver.
The ring is size 5 1/2. The top measures about 1\" long.
Condition is very good pre-owned. There are scratches commensurate with use.
It is hallmarked \"Hans Hansen\" in script, \"925 S\", \"Denmark\", and scratched underneath all that is \"8208F\" which might have been an inventory number or design number.
