Therewere several Vintage-Era Glassmakers who made similar products – both forretail and as promotional items; marked or unmarked.

Offeredhere isa MATCHING PAIR ofVintage CRYSTAL-CLEAR GLASS, DOUBLE-EGG CUPS-in excellent condition.

ALLsurfaces are super-clean, highly-glossy, shiny, and silky-smooth. There are NO stains or significant scratches, rubs, norhazing. One egg cup was \"bumped at the bottom rim\'s edge - having produceda small \"wave\" within the glass ~1\" wide leaving a bit ofroughness and a couple of red flecks - glass is in-tact. Otherwise - there areno other chips, cracks nor flea bites.

Theglass has a slight straw-yellow cast, some very tiny inclusions and fine airbubbles, distinct mold seams - unmarked as per the maker BUT do resemble someribbed, double-egg cups produced by Hazel-Atlas. These DOUBLE-EGG CUPS areVERY HEAVY!!

These DOUBLE-EGGCUPSmeasure - 2 3/4\" in diameter, across the edge of the largecup; 2 7/8\" in diameter across the outer edge of the small cup and rim x 43/8\" in height.

SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION –

Double-EggCups became VERY popular in the 1930s... a soft-boiled egg was eaten from the \"smallercup\" with a tea-spoon - the \"larger cup\" was used for when theegg was chopped up & mixed with salt & pepper (and any other condimentsyou like), then eaten with a fork.

Thereare AVID COLLECTORS of egg cups, asthe variety is nearly endless-this hobby is referred to as\"POCILLOVY\"derived from the Latin \"small cup=pocillum\" and \"egg=ovi\".

Several VINTAGE-ERA Glass-makers – such as McKee,Anchor-Hocking, Jeannette, Hazel Atlas, Fenton and MANY others -manufactured glass-ware for other brand-name companies and did not want theirown LOGOs seen, necessarily – so these pieces tended to be unmarked OR markedwith ONLY the company’s name who would distribute these items to theirconsumers – in retail stores or sometimes as free give-a-ways.
