Vintage Erzgebirge Wooden Decorative32 piece Hand Painted Chess Set
This set was said to be from Germany but there are no markings or brand on any of the pieces so I can\'t be for certain, it was from an estate.
Each piece has black felt on the bottom for easy sliding on a board
The king and queen are both approx 3-1/2\" tall.The pawns are short dwarfs with a pointy hat and a black pipe and are approx. 2\" tall. All other pieces are in between these measurements.
These are unusual design of the pieces and the intricate painting but are in vintage condition with chipping paint and do have some damage and missing parts to a few of the pieces. You\'ll see the box has chipped paint on the inside. These are old and most pieces of areas of chipping paint. This is an AS IS set.
One of the green pawns, hat comes off but could be glued back on. On the red soldiger\'s hat the black part is missing, the red pawn/dwarf is missing it\'s black pipe and the red end pieces (look like a round bird house or tower) is missing one of the pieces on the top (see up close photos for each of these details).
NO board is included with this purchase. The wood box has housed these figures for years and is included.
