Vintage Friar Tuck Salt and Pepper Shakers by Goebel W Germany Monk Salt Pepper:

Made by Goebel in West Germany, the Friar Tuck collectibles were made to be enjoyed and used rather than to be set upon a shelf to be admired. Thus, Goebel created several kitchen usable pieces such as this set of Friar Tuck salt and pepper shakers. Two charming robust Friars, both wearing their brown cassocks with white faux robe cords. Both have smiling faces with rosy checks and receding hair lines. The shorter of the two is the pepper shaker with two holes at the top of his head while the taller Friar, has three holes for the salt. On the lower left side of their robes is written \'garalit\' (not sure of the spelling).Goebel discontinued the Friar Tuck line in 1988 - this set of salt & pepper shakers were made in the 1960 - 1972 time frame.Quite a charming set of salt and pepper shakers indeed and would blend in perfectly with our Friar Tuck sugar and creamer set and our Monk Cookie Jar both listed and sold separately.Sizes:

Unfortunately, these little Friars have had a rough life thus far. Both have nicks and chips around their black shoes and bottoms of their robes (easily touched up with a dab of paint), Both are missing their plastic stoppers. Other than these issues, the Friars are in excellent condition and are ready to be part of your Friar Tuck collection. We are a smoke free studio.
