Next up for sale is a fine quality George Washington Patinated Bronze Bust. This 19th Century sculptural beauty is raised on a bronze mounted marble plinth. The ivory colored marble column is fixed to a gray marble slab base. The casting is highly detailed and depicts General Washington in full military regalia including the sash. It was during the heavy fighting of 1775 to 1779 that he wore the large blue ribbon to establish his authority and distinguish himself from other officers. This antique bust is in very solid condition with no chips, cracks or rough edges. There are a couple of small scratches and marks as expected due to age and authenticity. The bronze mounts have minor loss to the finish. No attempt has been made to clean this piece, it is presented as found with a rich and warm patina. Note the plaque which identifies \"Wasghinthon\" as the subject at hand. Please review all of the pictures as they are part of the description. It measures approximately 10-1/2\" overall with the bronze about 5\" high by 4-1/4\" wide. The weight is just under 4-1/2 pounds.
