VINTAGE GOLD-PLATED MABIE TODD SWAN EYEDROPPER FOUNTAIN PEN FROM AROUND 1910.:

This is a gold-plated Mabie Todd Swan fountain pen which dates from around 1910. Unusually, the gold-plating is quite plain with no pattern. It has a capped length of 13.2cm and is an eyedropper filler.

There is an imprint, near to the end of the barrel, which reads \'Mabie Todd & Co. New York. \"Swan\" Pen\'. The imprint on the 14K Medium nib is \'Mabie Todd & Co. NY\'. It can be seen that the feed is the over/under type. The push-on cap is the clipless type and there are no imprints.

The pen is in remarkable condition considering that is over 100 years old. There are one or two miniscule dings but these are hardly noticeable. The barrel imprint is well defined and, most surprisingly, no brassing. The nib is in good order - it is the most flexible I have ever encountered. One point to mention - the overfeed is standing proud of the nib, obviously needs adjusting.

I have not filled the pen but dipped the nib into ink. I would have liked to say that it writes well but the very flexible nib actually makes writing somewhat difficult.
